Model primed with Gunze’s Surfacer 1200, and painted with Tamiya’s acrylics. Some custom made decals for side number.

Gannet–making of (Part 1)

I wanted to build model as per seen on display while visiting Luftwaffenmuseum in Berlin-Gatow in 2009. As the model lacks bomb bay details and folding wing mechanism they had to be added separately. Bomb bay as resin add-on from FAA Models was obtained from A2 Zee Models , folding wings were scratch-built. Chciałem wykonać model w formie, w jakiej widziałem samolot wystawiony na ekspozycji w Luftwaffenmuseum w Berlin-Gatow. Jako, że w modelu brakuje komory bombowej i mechanizmu składania skrzydeł – musiały być one wykonane oddzielnie. Żywiczny odlew komory produkcji FAA Models kupiłem od A2 Zee Models , składane skrzydła wykonane zostały od podstaw.

1/72nd scale Trumpeter's kit of Fairey Gannet A.S. 1/4 is fairly new (2006) and quality of sprues matches other models by this manufacturer. Pity the wing folding mechanism conversion isn't available within the kit. Detail is nice and crisp, naerly matching those of 1/48th scale. Only downside is massive seam runnig through the middle of canopies.

Zestaw Trumpetera samolotu Fairey Gannet A.S. 1/4 w skali 1:72 co całkiem nowy model (2006) jakością nie odbiegający od innych wypustów tego producenta. Szkoda tylko, że w zestawie nie ma mechanizmu składania skrzydeł. Szczegóły są delikatne i wyraźne prawie dorónując modelom w skali 1:48. Jedyną wadą jest wyraźny szew łączenia form przebiegający przez środek owiewek.
